Healthcare Information Technician Certification
This certification assists nurses and other medical staff in becoming super users in their field and/or position. The course curriculum will provide students with an understanding of how to troubleshoot software and hardware used as part of the field of healthcare information technology and as part of an organization's medical applications.
HC-IT Application Specialist Certification
This certification demonstrates an individual's knowledge of HC-IT medical application skills. This certification is achieved by studying the HC-IT objectives and passing one exam.
HC-IT Implementation Specialist Certification
This certification demonstrates an individual's knowledge of HC-IT medical application implementation skills. It is achieved by studying the HC-IT objectives and passing one exam. The course curriculum includes some computer systems troubleshooting, HIPAA training, computer network troubleshooting skills, and UNIX troubleshooting skills.
Certified PACS Associate Specialist (CPAS)
CPAS certification is achieved by passing two exams: the CPAS-Technical exam (wherein individuals demonstrate their knowledge of general technical skills) and the CPAS-Clinical exam (wherein individuals demonstrate their knowledge of general clinical skills).
Certified PACS Interface Analyst (CPIA)
Individuals who obtain this certification are able to demonstrate their knowledge about DICOM/HL7, including troubleshooting. The course curriculum includes some computer systems troubleshooting, HIPAA training, computer network troubleshooting, and UNIX system troubleshooting.
Certified PACS System Analyst (CPSA)
Individuals who obtain this certification are able to demonstrate their knowledge of PACS components and system administration. The course curriculum includes some computer systems troubleshooting, HIPAA training, computer network troubleshooting, and UNIX system troubleshooting.
Certified PACS System Manager (CPSM)
This is the "capstone" certification. The candidate will be both CPIA and CPSA certified at the time the exam is taken and, in addition, must have advanced and detailed knowledge about subjects such as image quality, security, IHE, and advanced standards development (both DICOM and HL7). The course curriculum includes some computer systems troubleshooting, HIPAA training, computer network troubleshooting, and UNIX system troubleshooting.
